IM Remote via AIM

About this application:
IM Remote is an AOL AIM plugin that let you share your desktop with a friend via AIM. It is simple. This plugin can be extremely useful when a friend or relative needs help with their computer or if you want to remote your computer from your work or when you have a work remotely with a friend or co-worker, avoiding the complexity to setup a secure VNC server.
It’s simple to use….once you guys have made a connection. A screen with that person’s window will pop up and you tell that person not to touch his/her mouse. You can now take control of that person’s computer and do virtually anything that a person there would do.

This program downloaded and installed perfectly. You need a high speed internet connection because it is a bandwidth hog but that’s not the plugin’s fault. In order to do stuff in real time both people have to have a good internet connection. It’s easy to use this plugin…for example if you have a brother who has aim but doesn’t have the plugin and he needs you to do stuff on his computer but you live far away. Right click on his name and select “Request remote assistance” at this point since he doesn’t have the plugin it will tell you he doesnt and ask you if you want to send him a link to download it. He downloads it and now must manually exit out of aim and restart it. Now he can right click on your name and request remote assistance from you. Just remember if you reboot his computer he has to re initiate the connection. You need at least microsoft framework.net 2.0. I wouldn’t mess with 3. I’ve always had problems with it.
